Hello and welcome to ‘non standard deviations’! What do you get when you decide to take a breather after a fulfilling career in MedTech that’s taken you across the globe? You get me—starting this blog to share the ongoing story of a life filled with unconventional choices that have truly shaped who I am today.
With my amazing partner, Bryan, we are taking a break from the daily grind to dive into a series of travel adventures. We’re cutting ties with the endless flood of work emails and the echo of Zoom calls. Our journey begins back at home, where we’ll revisit some favorite haunts, reconnect with friends and family, and hopefully uncover some new hidden gems. Then, it’s off to Europe and Asia, mixing familiar stops that resonate with one of us, along with completely new destinations that neither of us has explored.
After our travels, we’ll be settling into the enchanting beachside town of Yamba, where I plan to blend the rhythms of small-town life with remote work. ‘Non Standard Deviations’ will chronicle this transition and more—how a life less ordinary continues to unfold through travel, swimming, relationships, and a new work-life balance.
I might not be the most seasoned writer, but I’ve come across more bugs in life than a software engineer in a telehealth startup during flu season.—ready to be shared. So, join me as we explore life beyond the usual boundaries and find joy in new beginnings.
